Notes: The third change to the Marvel Masterworks set of hardcover books was to change the Comicraft designed book to a Silver/Black design. This design is similar to but different from the current set of Marvel Masterworks hardcover books. This set of books consisted of 4 reprints from the original Marvel Masterworks series and 1 new book (The Sub-Mariner) all of which were printed between March 2002 and July 2002.

There were no Limited Edition Variants of these books.

These hardcover books can be identified by 2 distinct differences from the current Marvel Masterworks series of hardcovers. The first is the title 'Marvel Masterworks' is at the bottom below the cover image on the front cover. The second is the Volume number on the spine is a Silver number in a Black square. A third, not so easy to tell, difference is the Reprint Cover on the cover is larger than the current series.
