Two fishermen catch a black crab, considered to be bad luck. One of them, Jacques, sees a fortune to be made from it and slays his fellow fisherman so that he can become rich and marry the lovely Maria. She spurns him, but almost becomes a victim of the black crab that seems to have sought out the evil Jacques for revenge.
