Garry Trudeau acknowledged employing Don Carlton as inker of Doonesbury (Alter 1990). Carlton’s association with Trudeau began in the early 1970s, and his responsibilities grew to include lettering of the strip. The association endured for decades (Walker 2010, 30–31).
In 2001, George Corsillo became the regular colorist of Doonesbury Sunday strips. One of Corsillo’s first strips included a depiction of the wreckage of the World Trade Center following the attacks of September 11, 2001 (Walker 2010, 183); that strip is reprinted in this volume. GCD’s credits reflect that this volume appears to include both Sundays colored prior to Corsillo’s involvement, and Sundays colored by Corsillo.
Shameless greedhead capitalist Jim Andrews was based on the Jim Andrews of Trudeau's publisher, Andrews McMeel.
