Art submitted on Dec. 15, 1948. A redrawn version of this story, with art by Daan Jippes appears in Carl Barks Library (Another Rainbow, 1983 series) #6 May 1990; Walt Disney's Donald Duck Adventures (Disney, 1990 series) #26 July 1992; Carl Barks Library of Walt Disney's Donald Duck Adventures in Color (Gladstone, 1994 series) #14. Synopsis by Michael Barrier from "Carl Barks and the Art of the Comic Book" (M. Lilien, 1982).

In the Fantagraphics "Lost in the Andes" book Francesco Stajano and Leonardo Gori note that the reproduction materials for this story were missing for decades. It wasn't until 2011 that this story was finally reprinted using original artwork.
