Father Hopeful ponders if he should trust Hammer, or stake him, but before he makes a decision, Arlington wakes at dusk and takes off on the hunt. This night takes him to the lair of the vampire that nailed his Dad: Desmodus, the Nazi Vampire, who lets his victims' blood drip out. When another vampire asks why he doesn't bite his victims, Desmodus repies, "When I was human, and I ate hamburgers, I never had an urge to kiss the cow." Arlington burns down Desmodus' lair.
