While working to uncover the identity of Bloodaxe, Thunderstrike winds up teaming up with his quarry against Mongoose and Quicksand. Bloodaxe blast Quicksand with fire from the Blood Axe and turns her to glass, Bloodaxe is poised to shatter her, when Thunderstrike tackles Bloodaxe to prevent yet another death. In the ensuing struggle Bloodaxe is separated from the Blood Axe reverting to mortal form only to be revealed as Jackie Lukus; not the person that Thunderstrike though he would be seeing. During the aftermath Thunderstrike has a crisis of conscience, and decides that it must all end, and so thinking grabs the Blood Axe and his own hammer at the same time.
