This is a pop-up book with sequential panels (abridged comic-book reprints) making up brief narratives throughout. All interior pages are spreads with pop-up splash panels spotlighting a particular character, with touched-up or altered artwork, surrounded by flat panels and pull-out tabs. Spider-Man's first appearance / origin is reprinted in abridged form on alternating right-hand pages. All panels have new, mostly verbatim lettering in original balloons. Sequences' combined page count is higher than book's total page count due to fold-out origin chapters.
Various websites (including publisher's at one time, although the book is no longer listed there) have given list price as $19.99, but book says $24.99 US. Only date in publication data is copyright; on-sale date from publisher's website.
