While Peter is still trying to locate the missing Mary Jane, Eddie Brock decides to re-connect with his ex-wife and win her back. She is, of course, terrified by him and just wants to be left alone. When Spidey swings by the window in his black costume, she freaks out even more and Eddie decides to "rescue" her by taking down the web-slinger. During the ensuing battle, Ann leaps to her death in a panic and Venom vows vengeance against Spider-Man for causing the death of the woman he loves.
