Namor attacks a group of Inuit and throws their idol into the sea. When the ice melts, the figure trapped within turns out to be Captain America, in suspended animation since the end of World War II. The Avengers rescue Cap and return to New York. An alien figure turns our heroes to stone. When Cap and Rick Jones track him down, the alien agrees to restore the Avengers if they agree to help him recover his broken space ship in return. When doing so, the Avengers are attacked by Namor and his people. The restored spaceship ultimately drives off Namor and his men.

Harry is raving and bed-ridden after once again taking LSD and when his father finds his son's friends gathering around in support, he throws them out. Cracking under the pressure of his damaged son and failing business, Norman regains his memory of being the Green Goblin and also the secret identity of his deadliest foe. Trying to get to Spidey where it hurts, the Goblin captures Gwen and brings her to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge. During the fight, Gwen falls from the bridge and when Spider-Man tries to catch her with a web line, her neck snaps.
