Stan Lee's Soapbox prints a letter from Henry H. Walker, a teacher in North Carolina who had used an issue of Spider-Man to help a 13-year-old boy become interested in reading. Stan will be a speaker during the popular culture session at the American Studies Association in Washington D.C. in October. In other news, Marvel explains why the double-sized issues for 25 cents were replaced by 36 page 20 cent issues. Fantasy authors James Jakes and Michael Moorcock have plotted stories for Conan. Roy Thomas attended the New York Comic Art Convention, where Frank Frazetta complimented Roy on the Conan comics. There's five very small headshots of Marvel characters, the same ones used in previous Bullpen Bulletins. Also the Mighty Marvel Checklist of comics "now on sale."
