He started the franchise as a tribute to his son, the hero known as Snowfire. Due to a misunderstanding between Snowfire and another hero, they began to battle, which ended in Snowfire's death. Michael decided if there had been an opportunity for his son and the other hero to talk, Snowfire would still be alive. To that end, Common Grounds was created, a neutral place for heroes, villains, or anyone that needs to talk.
