Ad for the first issue of Walt Disney Comics Digest. The cover of the issue is reproduced. "On sale May 21 wherever fine magazines are sold... Only 50-cents" The “all new” issue of Walt Disney Comics Digest, led off with a reprint of Carl Barks' "Secret of Atlantis" (title created for this issue), and had reprints of "Mickey and the Beanstalk" and "Babes in Toyland". But there was more "new" material than would be in future issues, with Tony Strobl carrying much of the load aided by Pete Alvarado - and with Pluto and Super Goof by Paul Murry. Part 1 of 3. Continues in issues 334-335.

Part of the "Fantastic Time Machine" sub-series that appeared around the later 1960s, which also included Mickey Mouse issues #114 and 116, as well as the next serial in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #336-338. This sub-series allowed Mickey and Goofy to have adventures in various historical periods.

In Walt Disney's Comics and Stories (IDW, 2015 Series) #721 (July 2015), translator and American English dialogue provider Jonathan Gray linked that issue’s Italian-produced Mickey Mouse installment to the "Fantastic Time Machine" sub-series.

The story's opening caption looks as if it were lettered by artist Paul Murry
