The phrase, "The house is alive" is reportedly one of the things Roger Corman said in order to convince his bosses as AIP to allow him to film Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher"(1961). The origin of the house is strikingly similar to the one in "The Outer Limits" episode, "The Guests".
