The Spider-Man story in this issue was originally intended for the Amazing Spider-Man series at a time when John Romita (the usual artist for Spider-Man) injured his wrist and Ross Andru stepped in to create this fill-in story. However, John recovered in time and was able to draw the previously planned story so Ross' story was published here (info from the Marvel Super-Heroes wiki).
