Poole script per biblio published in Robin Snyder's The Comics, Vol. 27, No. 1, January 2016. Previous indexer credited Archie Goodwin.

This is the third part of the only original X-9 comic book story produced in the U.S. up to this time, a five-part story appearing in issues #4–8 (1967). The first part ("The Key to Power") was written by Archie Goodwin and drawn by Al Williamson. The other parts remain officially uncredited. The art has been erroneously attributed to Reed Crandall and Dan Spiegle. Mark Evanier has expressed the opinion that the artist is either Mike Roy or Frank Springer, who is tentatively credited by this indexer.
