While entertaining some children in the park, Dick happens to notice the Scarecrow retrieving buried loot from a past robbery. He calls in Batman and together they battle their old foe until they are blinded by Scarecrow's fear gas.

This story introduced the Scarecrow of Earth-1, his origin presented in this story is an adaptation of the story in World's Finest Comics #3, which featured the Earth-2 Scarecrow.
