Jimmy Olsen; Clark Kent [Superman]; Rick Barton; von Spitz; Bruna; Lucy Lane
Despite Jimmy's hammy performance in the previous "Sinister Safari" film, Metro Movies director von Spitz gives him a bit part in his latest jungle epic because of the "thousands of Jimmy Olsen fan clubs all over the world". The local tribe's sacred ape, Bruna, selects Jimmy as her mate (inspired by a viewing of King Kong's attraction to Ann Darrow).

In 1966 the rights to King Kong (except for the Delos Lovelace novelization of the 1933 film) belonged to RKO. In 1975 Universal Studios discovered the copyright to the novelization had lapsed and tried to make a King Kong film. In 1976 the United States District Court ruled that Universal could make its film as long as it did not infringe on original elements of the 1933 film, which had not passed into the public domain.

Leo Dorfman actually wrote that Kong fell in love with Fay Wray, but that was the actress's name, not the character's.
