Candy (K-9)
Candy's squad has a love-hate relationship with him, with only Larsen constantly sticking up for his dog. When they're pinned down, they give Candy a message to deliver to their lines for a rescue, but en route Candy is attacked by the Chinese and shot. He kills one of his attackers, but the dying man tears the message packet off Candy's neck. Candy reaches the lines without the message and dies. The squad is finally rescued, convinced Candy failed them.

The earth itself narrates the story of Lt. Morgan holding the line against the communists as a rear guard. To stop the advancing troops, he sets up dynamite at a weak point in the ground, leading to underground caverns. To lure the enemy out, he goes out to the mined area himself and dies in the explosion, burying the enemy forces.
