Bearing a map found in Donald's seafood restaurant, the ducks and a parrot named Old Yellow Beak set sail for an island where the pirate Henry Morgan's treasure is buried. Unknown to them, the crew of the ship is made up of Black Pete, disguised as an old woman, and two of his rat-faced henchmen. Peter takes over the ship, but the ducks and the parrot reach the treasure island on a raft. They dig up the treasure while Pete lies in wait.

This is Carl Barks' first comic-book work. "The story adaptation was written by Bob Karp, and was taken from storyboards by Homer Brightman for "Morgan's Ghost," a Disney feature cartoon that was never produced." Notes and synopsis by Michael Barrier from "Carl Barks and the Art of the Comic Book" (1982). There is a follow-up to the story by Jack Hannah in Walt Disney's Comics- Cheerios Set W (Dell, 1947 series) #1 and a later one in 1962 in Italy.
