Mencken; Crane; Horhaga Brothers; Zabor; Dr. Molnar; Helena; Frank
Mencken and Crane open a crypt in Horhaga Castle, accidentally releasing the vampire Horhaga brothers. Despite Dr. Molnar's warnings, the men refuse to seal up the crypt and the vampires begin a rampage. Molnar kills two of the vampires in their coffins, but Mencken and Crane save the last coffin as their find. They board the Greek ship Stavros to bring the coffin home, but days later Stavros is found deserted, the entire crew dead. A British ship destroys Stavros, but the last Horhaga coffin is drifting intact in the water.

On a dig in Egypt Charles accidentally reads from the Book of Thoth and revives the Witch Queen, who wants Charles to be her king and intends to murder Mary. To send the Witch Queen back to her slumber and spare Mary, Charles shoots himself in the head, breaking the spell.

Creighton finds Sir Geoffrey in Africa and they witness a ceremony where pygmies are sacrificed to the ape god M'Wamba; Sir Geoffrey grabs an idol of M'Wamba and hurls it at the witch doctor and Creighton shoots the witch doctor, but the dying man places a curse on Sir Geoffrey. Sir Geoffrey begins transforming into an ape-like monster. Creighton brings Geoffrey back to England, but Geoffrey escapes him and begins murdering people. Finally he confronts Creighton and Creighton strikes him with the idol; it breaks the spell and kills Geoffrey, just as Geoffrey throttles Creighton to death.
