This story is divided into two chapters: Chapter 1—"The Coming of the Hulk!" (7 pp) and Chapter 2—"Slaves of the Hulk!" (6 pp). The Hulk next appears in Journey Into Mystery #66 (March 1961).

This is one of the first two 'feature-length' monster stories published by Marvel (the other was "I Created Krang!" published simultaneously in Tales to Astonish (Marvel, 1959 series) #14). Three months later, these stories would be added to all four Marvel SF anthologies, and the next year a fifth series including them would be launched.
