John Lavir blackmails Tess into helping him with his stolen dog racket. She and Lavir get into a scuffle and the police find Lavir with his throat cut and charge Tess. Tracy finds evidence that clears Tess. A car sideswipes Tracy's police car and after a chase the police find that it was hauling stolen furs.

I'm going to hop into my own car and go out to Gibbons...
Tracy and Pat try to prevent the hijacking of a truckload of furs, but get caught in a fiery crash. Tracy gets Fred Marken to help set up a trap for the fur thieves. Later Stooge Viller is released from prison and gets a $1,000 stake from his old gang to start operations again.

I see. Just a moment, I'll switch you to Mr. Tracy.
Tracy finds The Professor's workshop, but is captured by Stooge Viller. Viller moves the shop, sets the old place on fire, and leaves Tracy hanging by a rope in an abandoned well in the country. Viller has his gang kidnap his daughter, who is living with her grandmother, and bring her to see him. Tracy escapes from the well, where he is found by Tess Truehart and a group of Girl Scouts on an outing. Viller decides to leave town and take his daughter with him.

After being accidentally shot by his daughter, Stooge Viller tries to escape by swimming across a river, but drowns. Tracy finds a baby that was left in a wardrobe case in a department store and tries to find his parents.

He's been inoculated with tropic sleep germs...
Tracy tracks the baby's grandfather to his lab and in a fight, the old man hits his head and dies and the only beaker of tropic serum is spilled. Tracy takes the baby to the hospital only to find that there is no cure for tropic sleep. Tracy and Patton ransack the old man's study and find the formula for the secret serum to cure the disease.
