Dixie leaves to see her husband, who is in the hospital, and Jack is broken-hearted. Downwind organizes a group of young ladies as "Sixth Columnists" to fight "Fifth Columnists." Enemy spy "The Eye" targets Downwind and sends Miss Fahrenheit to lure him to his headquarters.

There won't be enough of you left to suck up with an eye-dropper!
The Eye and K-9 tie up Downwind in the hold of a target ship that is to be used for practice bombing. Tepid Fahrenheit, a former associate of the Eye, learns of the plot and tells Joy. Joy breaks up the bombing formation then lands her plane in the water and saves Downwind. Later Tepid and Downwind capture the Eye and K-9. After getting Jack and Joy together, Downwind realizes he loves Joy. Trying to take his mind off his lost love, Downwind goes into the plane salvage business.

Yes, sir, Downwind--Joy said she'd marry me-
When the stress of a big wedding gets to be too much, Jack and Joy decide to elope. Downwind, who was secretly in love with Joy, crashes his plane right before the elopement. After the interrupted ceremony is over, Jack leaves Joy to search for Downwind.
