Synopsis:
When a demon snatches Duncan's daughter, he pursues them into Hell. Guided by Virgil he fights through each circle, revealing that he recently became subject to abrupt transformations into a violent monster. In the 9th Circle the Dark Lord informs Duncan that they were both once angels, and later devils. In the 10th circle Duncan can only rescue Tracy if he finds his true image among dozens of mirrors. He recognizes himself as neither man nor angel, but as demon. Father and daughter are restored to their home. She leaves for a date, and he assures her he'll be waiting.

Notes:
This sequence is a story-within-a-story, comprising one page of "cover" and 36 pages of comic story, putatively created by Daniel Stone (a central character in the text novel), and illuminating the relationships within that novel. Although there is a color credit, in fact the entire sequence is black and white. The graphic sections appear on pages 9-13, 56-59, 108-111, 172-177, 222-225, 265-268, 307-310, 364-368, 386, and 387. Some features of the story echo either Dante's Divine Comedy or Milton's Paradise Lost. The mock direct edition cover (The Immortal Wildclaw # 5) bears barcode number 756060550300111. It is priced at 3.95 USD, 5.25 CAD.
