Fear Itself: In the Beginning

After Bor's death, Cul and his Worthy allow Sleipnir and others to run amok among the mortals. Odin, Vili and Vi oppose them. Odin sacrifices his right eye to Yggdrasil in exchange for wisdom. Cul contains the Worthy in their weapons so he can call upon them in the future. Odin defeats and imprisons Cul. Odin razes Aesheim and renames it Midgard.

Odin abdicates in favor of the All-Mother, a triumvirate of goddesses and carries the body of Cul away. A pyre is set for Thor. Amid the flames Tanarus, god of thunder, is reborn and Asgardians celebrate their hero, all unaware that a substitution took place, except for Loki. Don Blake is suddenly present and in the void Thor awakes.
