Founded by C. Arthur Pearson in 1890. Publishers of Pearson's Weekly (1890-1939), The Royal Magazine (1898–1939), Home Notes (1894–1958), London Opinion (1903–1954), and other magazines and newspapers. Became an imprint of Newnes in 1914, and fully acquired by Newnes in 1929. Acquired (along with Newnes) by Odhams Press in 1959, and then by IPC in 1961.
