It was an old ship!
A captain is complaining about his old derelict spaceship that is infested with cockroaches. He mentions how one time while eating at a restaurant his salad had a bug in it. The engineer of the crew wonders how life would be like if insects had evolved the same way mammals did on Earth. After the ship crashes on an alien world, the crew finds it inhabited by giant clothed insects. While they hide in some vegetation, they are scooped up by one of the insect beings who prepares it as a salad for the king. The king is horrified to find humans in his salad!

"E.C. Quickie"
Captain Philip Donnel (space ship pilot); Bob Hatch (language expert); Lieutenant James Murtha (engineer, death); Sandor Mannershmitt (inventor of the space time overdrive, mention only)
Frustrated? Well, at least you still have your youth!
An alternate version of the previous story sees Captain Donnel and his crew not going into suspended animation when travelling 30 years to Pollux. When they get there (now as old men), they were shocked to see humans had already colonized the star. Apparently during their 30 year voyage, a scientist on Earth invented a star drive which allows people to travel from Earth to Pollux in just 2 days!

North in Beirut, in Lebanon, in October of 1952...
Two archaeologists uncover a large, smooth object, looking very much like a building block, that is covered with etched inscriptions on five of its six sides, which are later translated by Marvin. To their surprise, the block proves to be a diary of an alien boy (who is a reptilian giant) who stole his father's spaceship on his planet 14 Centuries before and crashed on Earth during the Medieval age. The frightened lost alien child is slayed by a knight which became the legend of "Saint George and the Dragon".
