Korea, August 1951!
Finishing a game of checkers, Straus and Kilpatrick nearly miss a required briefing of all tank commanders by the C.O., who informs them that a patrol sent down the Kumhwa Road had been ambushed and badly hit, and they needed to be rescued. When the going gets tough, Straus and Kilpatrick maneuver their tanks as if they were playing checkers and win the battle, saving the platoon.

The American revolution!
In October of 1776, the British and Hessian soldiers sailed past Washington and landed at Pell's Point, hoping to trap the American Army commanded by George Washington. After several battles, both sides retreated, with no victory for other side, just death.

A vet of World War II told this story to us!
A machine gun company is under attack when suddenly a U.S. soldier comes running out of a cane field, announcing that the Japanese are coming at them right behind him on a banzai charge. However, no charge ever comes, but with Leinoff hit and wounded, that doesn't mean the threat is over.
