Tarzan of the Apes
Tarzan of the Apes; Chief Ishtak; Henrik Smit; Jan Van Boeren; Annitje
Tarzan assists the Boer settlers in constructing their jungle settlement. Nearby in the brush the spies of Chief Ishtak watch, hidden, and later report to their chief of the settlers' progress. But Ishtak and his men wait on guns, with which they plan to use in order to take the settlement once it's done. Meanwhile one of the Boer women, Annitje, is boldly flirtatious with Tarzan, but he rebuffs her. In doing so she becomes his enemy, and sides with storekeeper Henrik Smit, who expresses a fierce hostility toward Tarzan. Smit secretly plans on providing guns to Chief Ishtak and his men.
