Synopsis:
Terra-Man finds some red kryptonite in space and decides to team up with Luthor. Together, they manage to expose Superman to it, but it just splits him in two. The villains escape to figure out their next step. After harnessing magical energy power, they fight the two Supermen. Terra-Man is captured, but then the Supermen merge again. Luthor, using magical energy, seriously injures Lois. Superman arrives, but Lois is dying due to the energy. Superman's love for Lois overcomes the magical energy which backfires on Luthor, allowing Lois to live and Superman to capture Luthor.

This is the first in-continuity appearance of Superman-Red and Superman-Blue. They had appeared earlier in an imaginary story in Superman (DC, 1939 series) #162 (July 1963).
Gonzales credit from Julius Schwartz's editorial records, provided by DC Comics. Robin Snyder notes on the GCD mailing list in 2009 that Gonzales told him to have worked on the cover and the story. The owner of page 31 of Job Number S-5054 notes that on the back of the page in the bottom right corner, in pencil, someone wrote: "Ernie Chua (P)", and underneath: "Vince Colleta (I)".
