The pond shimmered in the morning sunlight!
Scientists discover what has been killing everything in Mr. Dorsey's pond. It's an intelligent liquid lifeform that assimilates the knowledge of the victims it dissolves. This organism plans to eventually take over humanity. The scientists destroy the pond with flamming oil, but a cleaning lady back at their lab dumps some of the specimen they were studying down the drain.
