A.J. Sprocket, producer of nature films, has sent Mickey and Goofy to Darkest Africa to shoot motion pictures of birds and animals.
Goofy's uncanny affinity for making friends with animals serves well the nature documentary he and Mickey were hired to film, until their guide Klutch spies the distant figure of Goofy's uncle, old Grubley Goof, who is rumored to possesses a valuable cache of diamonds. Klutch maroons Mickey and Goofy on the far side of a deep and remote gorge and sets after Grubley Goof and his fortune.
