Bruce Banner is in the country of Costa Salvador when he runs across a town in the shadow of a giant robot whose inhabitants seem to be mind controlled. As he finds his own mind being assaulted, Bruce turns into the Hulk and then attacks a hilltop fortress that seems to be the source of the mental manipulation. Breaking into the fortress, Hulk finds that his foes are Maximus the Mad and his evil band of Inhumans and a battle ensues. The army also attacks the fortress and Maximus talks the Hulk into helping him repel the jade giant's oldest enemies.

The Hulk attacks the army on behalf of his Inhuman allies but after the battle is won, Maximus betrays the jade giant and tries to bring him down with a huge robot. The Hulk beats the Inhumans and destroys their fortress but Maximus escapes as the Hulk leaps away in disgust.

Hulk is leaping over Florida when he is accidentally struck by a missile causing him to crash land in the swamp. Finding a cabin, Hulk destroys some barrels of radioactive waste which creates a muck monster soon to be known as the Glob. The army is in the marsh hunting the Hulk when the Glob captures Betty, thinking she is the woman he loved back in the days when he was a human. The Hulk and the Glob battle but the muck monster ends up giving his life in helping the Hulk save Betty from anti-radioactive goop that Ross has poured into the swamp in order to kill both the Glob and the Hulk.

Exhausted after his battle with the Absorbing Man, Bruce Banner is taken to a mysterious mansion where he becomes the target of an evil cult who desires to bring the Undying Ones to Earth. Banner is sent to another dimension where he turns into the Hulk and faces the Night-Crawler. Destroying the Night-Crawler's realm, Hulk and his foe are teleported to the realm of the Undying Ones where Night-Crawler fights his ancient foes while Hulk rescues a trapped Dr. Strange and the two return to Earth.
