Synopsis: Old Billy Smith sits in "Smith's Gauntlet" street and relates how he ran a gauntlet when this was Indian territory. "When the West was wild!" Johnny Thunder patrols because the posse hunts the Rapidan Gang. But the gang has infiltrated town! Soon he's dashing through alleys, diving through doors, getting dragged by a horse - running his own "gauntlet". Sharp shooting knocks guns awry and snips frees JT from a lasso. The gang is captured. And old Billy Smith renames the street "Smith's and Thunder's Gauntlet". "You never kin tell when [the West] is goin' to get wild again!"
