Synopsis:
Castor's uncle gives him Bernice, the luck-granting Whiffle hen. Castor finds himself beset by enemies who want to steal his hen, but gains an alliance with the sailor Popeye for a voyage to Dice Island to test Bernice's powers at gambling. Thereafter, Popeye becomes Castor's constant companion in his adventures.
