Kit runs away and even fights Guran when his relatives greet him with shock for his jungle ways. But Diana Palmer, and his aunt, convince him that he is in fact welcome. The uncle is delighted to learn that Kit's jewels will amply pay for his education and more. With all established on a sound footing, Guran returns to the jungle, and Kit faces his new school's bullies. Kit excels at school and sports while maintaining a dignified reserve, which provokes constant bullying. He shrugs it off but rescues the injured leader of the bullies, earning their friendship

An abandoned baby ends up being raised by the Phantom, who picks up other strays as the baby (Rex King) grows up. Rex and Tom-Tom exploring while the Phantom is away come across bank robbers burying their loot, and decide to investigate once they're gone. Only the robbers return and Rex and his strays capture them and take them to Uncle Walker.
