He protects the family from the Science Police and allows Kal-El's rocket to be launched. Upon his return to the Metropolis, Jimmy loses all recollection of his trip. But Superman, with his perfect memory, remembers Jimmy and when they meet again, Superman tells Jimmy that he has lined up a job as cub reporter for the Daily Planet for him, and presents him with the signal watch.
