The sudden collision left him stumbling, and his frustration boiled over. "Stupid pole!" he shouted, his anger and embarrassment getting the better of him. But his ire was short-lived, as his momentum carried him forward, and he tumbled into the open manhole, his outburst cut short by the sudden darkness.
