Witch burnings, pirate plunder and murder, lost whalers and silent bitter women - this is still the heritage of the village of Whaler's Harbor, clinging silently to the bleak rocky coast of New England...
In 1897, merchant seaman Angus Beame marries Mary Bourne for her eventual inheritance. When Mary's father's will is read, and is not to Angus' satisfaction, he sails away and leaves Mary. In response, Mary places a curse on her betraying husband that he may not return to harbor until the day she dies.

This reprint is introduced at the top of page one with a banner saying "Bonus Chiller", and the following text: "Just in case the last story's ending didn't send enough chills down your spine, we'd like to take this extra time to present another special tale of terror for your enjoyment..."

The house given to Mary and Angus by her father bears a noticeable resemblance to the Norman Bates house in Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" (1960).
