To be patriotic, Ma and Pappy decide to host a random "G.I. Joe" from the nearby army camp for dinner. Ma picks out a general, but when he protests that he's "not a G.I. Joe," she thinks he's a spy and treats him accordingly.

An embittered violinist, who was hit by a truck and lost his hand, seeks revenge on the doctor who amputated his hand, replacing it with a hook. He takes to murder and kidnapping, but Manhunter's "mighty blow" jolted the violinist to reality, causing him to realize the error of his ways, and he becomes a conductor again.
