Don't be fooled by the legends.
During World War II, the Germans summon the Norse gods to help them achieve victory. Only Loki sides with the Allies and, in 1962, accompanies Chris Turing and his soldiers in a last ditch effort against Odin's forces. As they reach their goal, however, Loki disappears. With their most powerful ally gone, Chris and his soldiers are quickly captured by the gods and their Nazi lackeys. Even though their cause is lost and their lives forfeit, Chris defies Thor, breaks the Spear of Destiny and tells Odin he does not believe in him. This action has a deep impression on young servant, Lars.

Of course the world went on.
The Norse gods find themselves in conflict with the gods of Asia, India and Africa as they vie for control of earth. Lars has grown up to serve Thor, wearing a golden suit of armor to carry out his missions. His service is a sham, however, as his true loyalties lie with a small band of human rebels. They discover that the tropical gods are trying to heat up the earth while the Norse plan on starting a new ice age. All humans will die in both scenarios. Just as this discovery is made, Loki abducts the scientists and takes them to the World Tree for sanctuary. Lars refuses to go.

High in the dawn sky...
Lars is pulled from the ocean by a conclave of Arabs and Jews who nurse him back to health, explain to him how they have defied the gods currently walking the earth and provide him with a robotic suit to fight on their behalf. Lars takes the fight to the gods, winning minor battles. With the help of Joseph and Jane, Lars destroys Loki's World Tree and halts his plan to abscond with the best and brightest of humans left on Earth.
