Compilation of daily newspaper strips from December 12, 1959 though December 5, 1960. Major story arcs include: Liddle Noodnik turns Slobbovia's "Snowman" adorable; Li'l Abner helps Bran Ball bakers get their inheritance; Wolf Gal pursues Li'l Abner by turning animals against humans; Li'l Abner and Daisy Mae must divorce to save humanity; Tiny insists that Abominable Snow-Hams are people; plastic surgery makes romance confusing; Fearless Fosdick foils the revolt of the machines; Mammy and Pappy are trapped in the Punjinyore Vase; the Yankee flu; blindfold Sadie Hawkins Day. The Punjinyore Vase sequence remakes the 1943 story of the Burpinyore Vase. Various names and cameos play with performers Burl Ives and Charlton Heston; presidential candidates Lyndon Johnson, John F. Kennedy, and Henry Cabot Lodge; and comic-strip characters Dick Tracy and Rex Morgan, M.D. The Abominable Snow-Ham story -- in which the creatures are herded into trucks to go to the slaughter-house, and meet only contempt in the court -- is a horrifying depiction of the Holocaust.
