Spider-Man drives off Titanium Man and keeps him from killing Tony. After the battle, Tony once again appears before the Senate concerning superhuman registration and this time, Spider-Man himself testifies. Unbeknownst to Peter, he has been played by his new mentor as Iron Man pays Titanium Man off for the fortuitous attack. With the registration bill still up in the air, Tony and Peter return home to the news of the Stamford disaster.

In the wake of the Stamford explosion that killed over 600 people, Spider-Man and Iron Man help sift through the wreckage. The pair then head to Washington where Tony meets with the Senate once again and informs Peter that the superhuman registration bill will be passed in a matter of weeks and he plans on supporting it. Peter has a very difficult decision to make as his new mentor asks him to make his secret identity public and support the new registration bill.
