June Smith; Caleb Jordan; Mrs. Jordan; Peter Warner; Leslie Carter
June, who thinks she’s “homely,” goes on a fly-fishing vacation to New England. She meets vacationing artist Peter, who says June has “an inferiority complex” because she’s tall. He also denigrates fishing as a sport. They fall in love and June blossoms, but spiteful Leslie says Peter changed “an ugly duckling into a beauty” on a bet. June leaves. Peter finally tracks her down months later at a “sportsmans show,” says Leslie lied, and they reconcile.
