The Outlaw Kid sees McDaniels throwing his weight around town, bribing people and committing crimes. The Kid recalls how his father was blinded in an attack by the Red Vest Gang. Lance became the Outlaw Kid to capture the gang, but afterwards his father begged him to never use violence. The Kid's fight with McDaniels is broken up when the sheriff returns, but he takes McDaniels' side because of his money and influence and prepares to arrest the Kid.

The newly-appointed Thomas sees Burrows kill Carson in the courtroom. The jury and sheriff are both in Burrows' pocket. Thomas fires the sheriff and physically rounds up Burrows and his entire gang and then sentences them to death, using a pistol as his gavel during the trial.
