Using Mr. Smith's ray, he, Richie and Gloria become invisible, and have 15 minutes to foil a dangerous organized crime ring. The invisibility eventually wears off and the kids and Mr. Smith end up in harm's way, but the police arrive quickly afterwards to make an arrest. Richie reluctantly decides to buy the device but refuses to use it out of fear that it may end up in the wrong hands. To celebrate their victory, Richie invites Gloria and Mr. Smith to dinner and dancing on a rooftop restaurant, but Gloria feels her dancing may be dull after the harrowing experience they went through.
