This story is a comic book adaptation of the 1950 Mighty Mouse theatrical animated short "Law and Order", directed by Eddie Donnelly - and written by this comic book's editor Tom Morrison. Recurring comics villain The Claw replaces the cartoon's large cat-villain "Pinhead Shlobotka", and the mice are lured into a trap by a sham "Mighty Mouse movie", rather than the "exotic dancer film" seen in the cartoon. Information on the cartoon "Law and Order" provided by Merlin Haas.

This story is visibly the work of two different artists – the more “classic Terrytoons” style of Art Bartsch and the wild sketchiness of Jim Tyer. Bartsch handles pages 1-3 and the lower ¾ of page 7. Tyer is clearly in evidence on pages 4-6 and the top ¼ page 7 – especially so at the bottom of page 5 with a hard-charging crowd of 11 policemen waving guns and nightsticks, with one even sprouting “angel wings” to fly above and along with the squad. The final panel appears to be a “tack-on”, in that the Magpies’ expressions are “sequentially disconnected” from the panels before it. They are showing different emotions entirely, with only a vague reference to what has just passed, and that they are looking forward to “our [their] next comic strip”.
