A villain named Rankin Dole steals a hidden pitchblende mine found by his partner, keeps him prisoner there to mine, while abducting and raising his daughter. Dole dresses as the Cloven Hoof to murder for his mine, and frames Gene Autry as the murderer. Gene breaks jail and foils his plan, stops the villains, and reunites father and daughter.

The story is broken into several chapters:
untitled chapter 1 (7 pages)
Chap II "Escape" (8 pages)
Chapter III "The Man Hunt" (5 pages)
Chapter IV "The Trap" (6 pages)
Chapter V "In the Clutch of the Law" (5 pages)
Chapter VI "The D.A. Sees Light" (5 pages)
Chapter VII "Buried Alive" (6 pages)
Chapter VIII "Over the Cliff" (15 pages)
Chapter IX "The End of the Trail" (7 pages)

This appears to be Bing's first major work, preceded only by two short pieces for Timely. As Bing started on the Andy Panda series for Western in late 1941, this would place the date of this work being created around mid-1941.
