Synopsis: Mavis is engaged to Ed, city editor at a newspaper. She gets a job as a cub reporter so she can understand his devotion to his work. She then resigns her job to devote herself to marriage.

Sally has the carnival workers bring a generator to the McKay house so the doctor can operate. Dan’s father changes his opinion and Dan proposes marriage to Sally.

It's possible the name is just a coincidence, or perhaps an in-joke by the scripter of this story. The Reiner character in the story does not resemble the real Carl Reiner physically.
