Hattie breaks up with her fiancé Tom because she’s tired of spending so much time with Tom’s invalid mother. Hattie goes to a nightclub and meets handsome Fred; he tells her that he’s being pursued by gangsters trying to recover $50,000 he won at roulette. They hide the cash in Hattie’s house. Tom arrives and Fred, who is actually a criminal named Frank, reveals his true nature. Tom knocks out Fred and the police take him away. Tom and Hattie reconcile.

Rancher Tom assumes he’s going to marry Molly, who lives on a neighboring ranch. Molly falls in love with roaming cowboy Cleve, but her father opposes the match. Cleve can’t find work until he stumbles into a movie job and goes to Hollywood. Molly doesn’t hear from Cleve and agrees to wed Tom. However, on her wedding day Cleve shows up: Tom had intercepted Cleve’s letters to Molly. Tom gets punched and Cleve will marry Molly.

Agent Flip tells aspiring actress Babs she can get a role playing former star Cleo Kane if she recreates Kane’s madcap antics. Cleo’s nephew Jerry tells Babs that his aunt was forced to act foolishly, when she could have been a serious actress. Babs decides to back out of the publicity campaign, but learns Jerry is planning a rival movie about his aunt. However, Jerry proves this was a falsehood planted in newspapers by Flip to convince Babs to follow his plan. Jerry and Babs fall in love.

Reporter Sue loves globe-trotting businessman Roscoe, but wants him to quit his adventurous life so they can settle down. They travel from North Africa to Naples, where several gangsters are waiting to get revenge on him. Roscoe uses Sue as bait and the police nab the killers. Sue breaks up with him and returns to New York. She accepts an assignment in Tibet, and discovers Roscoe is waiting for her in Bombay. They reconcile.

Diana inherits a broken-down movie studio from her uncle. Her boyfriend Jim discovers a contract indicating big star Clyde owes the company one more film. Clyde is attracted to Diana and agrees to fulfill the contract, but he delays by romancing Diana and then produces a document which indicates the contract just expired. Jim punches Clyde and proposes marriage to Diana.
